Garland Raymo Obituary

Garland Joseph Raymo of Cuba, MO was born on Friday, July 26, 1940 in St. Louis, MO to Raymond Otis Raymo and Theresa Halter Raymo.  He passed away on Thursday, April 29, 2021, at Mercy Hospital in Washington, MO at the age of 80 years, 9 months, and 3 days.

He accepted the Lord early in life and attended St. Vincent's School in Perryville, MO.  He married the love of his life Janet Helen Lammert in St. Louis, MO on April 25, 1964 and to this union two children were born.  They just celebrated their 57th Anniversary four days ago.

Garland and Janet moved to Cuba in 1970 where he joined his dad at Raymo's Kitchens making cabinets for four years.  He then went to work for Crawford County R-II School District as a bus driver and custodian in early years and then advanced to Maintenance Supervisor.  He retired from Cuba Schools after 32 years of employment.

He loved the outdoors with fishing and deer hunting being his favorite activities.  He also liked walking 2 - 3 miles every day.  He would spend a lot of time in prayer during these walks, enjoying God's beautiful outdoors. During the summers, he was on his lawnmower almost every day.  If he was not mowing, he was riding over to his closest friends and neighbors, Frankie Todd and family, visiting and feeding the Koi fish in their pond. He also loved his family and spending time with them.

He was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Theresa Raymo; parents-in-law Frank and Helen Lammert; brother Raymond (Phyllis) Raymo; and sisters Joyce Seifried and Gena (Virgil) Jordan.

Garland is survived by his wife Janet Raymo of the home; children Steven (Pam) Raymo of Arnold, MO and Karen (Michael) Jackson of Cuba, MO;  closest friends Frankie (Shauna) Todd of Cuba, MO, Tristin Patterson of Burlington, NC, and Nathan (Ciara) Todd of Cuba, MO; brother Hugo "Eddy" Raymo of Las Vegas, NV;  sisters Trina (Wayne) Shira of St. Genevieve, MO and Beverly Kelly of Perryville, MO; brothers-in-law Ralph Lammert of Imperial, MO, Raymond (Ruthie) Lammert of Festus, MO, Frank Lammert and companion Nancy and David Lammert all of Arnold, MO, and Fred Seifried of Springfield, MO; sister-in-law Diane Vergano of St. Louis, MO; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
