Garry E. McCormick

Garry E. McCormick of Rolla, MO, was born in St. Louis, MO on Thursday, June 28, 1956, to Donald Eugene McCormick and Betty Jean McCormick, nee Hood.  He passed away at his home on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at the age of 67 years, 3 months, and 9 days.

Garry attended schools in St. Louis, Steelville, and Cuba, MO.  He married the love of his life, Kathy Ann Landwehr, on September 18, 1974 and to this union four children were born.  Garry and Kathy lived in Crawford County most of their married lives. Garry owned and operated his own business, McCormick Sealing and Striping, for many years. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, and riding motorcycles and four wheelers.  He loved playing with and teasing his grandchildren. His family was very important to him, and he loved spending time with them.

Garry was preceded in death by his parents Donald and Betty Jean McCormick; mother-in-law Vivian Copling; and sister Donna Stricklin.

Garry is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Kathy Ann McCormick of the home; three daughters Christy (Kevin) Lakaner of Cuba, MO, Rachel (Robert) Umfress and Angela Moore both of Douglas, GA; one son Matthew Allen (Michele) McCormick of Douglas, GA; 10 grandchildren McKayla Lakaner (fiancé Brandon Bouse) of Kirkwood, MO,  McKenzy Lakaner, Nicholas Lakaner and Madison Lakaner all of Cuba, MO, Tyler Umfress (fiancée Rachel Bennett), Mikael Moore, Zachary Moore, and Matthew McCormick, JR all of Douglas, GA, Brian Moore (fiancée Ivy James)  of Leasburg, MO, and Chelsey McCormick (fiancé Conner White) of Waycross, GA; 3 great grandchildren Cooper Moore of Leasburg, MO, Sammy White of Waycross, GA, and Owen Umfress of Douglas, GA; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation was from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Tuesday, October 10, 2023. Funeral Service immediately followed at 7:00 PM with Pastor Jimmy Delacourt officiating. The family chose cremation as his final disposition.
