Garry "Fuzz" Farris Obituary

Garry “Fuzz” James Farris of Cuba, MO was born in Rolla, MO on Sunday, February 9, 1958, to Benjamin James Farris and Virginia Grace Farris, nee King.  He passed away on Tuesday November 25, 2025, at Evelyn’s House in St. Louis, MO at the age of 67 years, 9 months, and 16 days.

Garry was a lifelong resident of Cuba and attended Cuba High School.   He was a hardworking and dedicated man; he spent several years running Indian Springs Resort but was best known for his long career with Bass Canoe Rental where he served as head of service and maintenance.  In recent years, he worked for John Bell, spending days feeding cattle.  Garry accepted the Lord as his personal Savior at an early age and was baptized at Crossroads Baptist Church where he was a member.  He later attended Free Will Baptist Church in Cuba and First Baptist Church in Leasburg.  Garry was an outdoorsman through and through.  He enjoyed flathead and crappie fishing, especially night fishing.  Garry was a proud member of the State Coon Hunters of Missouri, and he loved hunting, trapping, and coon hunting.  Time on his jet boat, frying up fish, or going to Shelly’s or the East Office were some of his favorite ways to spend the day.  Garry also enjoyed the simple things, McDonald’s chicken nuggets, long road trips, watching westerns, cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals and being surrounded by friends and family.

He was preceded in death by his parents Benjamin and Virginia Farris.

Garry is survived by his son Benjamin Farris of Cuba, MO; brothers Jerry Farris and Larry (wife, Sandra) Farris both of Cuba, MO; sister Twila Farris (husband, Eddie Metcalf) of Grants Pass, OR; special nieces Rachael Harris ( significant other, Rob Carmack) and Emma Harris both of Cuba, MO; special nephew Kamren Harris of Cuba, MO; special friend of Jim Bob Brand of Cuba, MO; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation was from 5:00 PM—7:00 PM on Monday, December 1, 2025, at Hutson Funeral Home, Cuba, MO. Funeral Service immediately followed at 7:00 PM with Rev. Spencer R.
