Glenn R. Stubblefield

Glenn R. Stubblefield of Steelville, MO was born on Saturday, December 21, 1946, in Villa Ridge, MO.  He passed away on Sunday August 11, 2024, at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, MO at the age of 77 years, 7 months, and 21 days.

Glenn grew up in the Leslie area near Union, MO and attended Washington High School.  He married his high school sweetheart, Lois Jean Parmentier in Krakow, MO on November 21, 1965, and one daughter was born to this union, Brenda.  Glenn enlisted in the United States Army and was stationed at Ft. Hood in Texas for two years and then served in the reserves for two and half years.  Glenn was honorably discharged and received the National Defense Service Medal and Rifle Marksman award. He had learned to weld at the age of 10 and after his honorable discharge, he became a top-notch welder and diesel mechanic for many years in his own shop in Steelville, MO.

Glenn loved riding horses, going on trail rides, and spending time outdoors.  He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, bailing hay, and gardening. He especially liked planting flowers and bushes, and helping his wife can vegetables, meat, and fish. Glenn loved all animals and had a knack for helping and caring for them. He was known for having numerous cats in his welding shop.

Glenn was preceded in death by his grandparents Charles Henry and Iva Majestic Stubblefield; parents-in-law Emmett John and Alice Louise Parmentier; and brother Keith Stubblefield.

Glenn is survived by his wife Lois Jean Stubblefield of Steelville, MO; daughter Brenda and husband Dick Windle of Owensville, MO; other relatives and friends.

The family chose cremation as his final disposition. There are no services scheduled at this time.
