Glenwood "Glen" Turnbough

Glenwood "Glen" Turnbough of Cuba, MO and formerly of Davisville, MO was born on Friday, May 22, 1942 in Dillard, MO to Ina "Marie" Turnbough.  He passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2023 at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis, MO at the age of 81 years, 6 months and 26 days.

Glen was raised by his grandparents Dallas and Ida Turnbough and was a lifelong Crawford County resident.  He went to Steelville High School until he had to quit to work with his family in the log woods and family sawmill.  Glen worked at Convey Shoe in Cuba, MO and then for the State Highway Department in Cherryville, MO.  He married Mary Lucille "Lucy" Brown on  August 20, 1960 in Steelville, MO and to this union three sons were born.  Lucy passed away in 1974 and Glen later married Judith Dianne Hewkin on March 5, 1977 in Steelville, MO and to this union 2 daughters were born.  He later went to work at St. Joe/Doe Run mines as a driller until he retired. Glen had accepted the Lord as his personal Savior and was a member of Faith Pentecostal Assembly.  Glen's passion was music; he played by ear on a flat top guitar, bass guitar and he loved to sing.  He enjoyed, along with Judy who was the youth leader from church, hosting parties at their home for the youth. They would play various games, but when playing baseball, he was known to always hit a homerun. When the kids asked him why he always hit a homerun, he would tell them it was because he didn't want to run. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing and working with his cattle. Most of all, Glen loved his family, especially his kids and grandkids.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Dallas and Ida Turnbough; mother Ina "Marie" (George) Smith; father Collin (Marie) Copeland; first wife Lucy Turnbough; parents-in-law Harry & Delphia Brown and Herman & Violet Hewkin.

Glen is survived by his wife Judy Turnbough of Cuba, MO; children Glendel (Lisa) Turnbough and Jimmy Turnbough both of Davisville, MO, Dan (Mary) Turnbough of Steelville, MO, Stephanie (Don) Cooper of West Plains, MO and Melinda (Justin) Schmitt of Sullivan, MO; brother-in-law Richard (Sharon) Hewkin; sisters-in-law Carolyn (Ralph) Clem of Steelville, MO and Pam (Danny) Wallis of Viburnum, MO; grandchildren Cynthia Turnbough of Steelville, MO, Lucas Turnbough of Davisville, MO, Kelsey Pyatt, Kallie Pyatt and Jared Pyatt all of West Plains, MO; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation is from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM on Saturday, December 23, 2023 at Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville, MO.  Funeral Service is at 9:00 am on Sunday, December 24, 2023 at Hutson Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Martin officiating.  Burial is at Martin-Trask Cemetery, Cherryville, MO.
