Helen Virginia Pyatt, nee Eaton, of Sullivan, MO, was born Tuesday, February 25, 1941, in Keysville, MO to John Earl Eaton and Erma Bertha Eaton, nee Happle. She passed away in Beaufort, MO, on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at the age of 85 years, 4 months and 12 days.
Helen was raised in Crawford County, attending school in Keysville and Cook Station. A dedicated and compassionate worker, she served others in the dietary department at St. John’s Hospital in St. Louis. Following her hospital career, she babysat for many years until her retirement.
On January 17, 1960, Helen married the love of her life, Kenneth Ray Pyatt, in Cherryville, Missouri. Together, they built a beautiful life and were blessed with two children.
Helen's faith was the cornerstone of her life, and she was a devoted member of the Full Gospel Assembly Church in Sullivan, Missouri. She was a woman of many talents who found immense joy in the quiet comforts of home. Whether she was sewing, quilting, or embroidering, her hands were always creating something beautiful. She also loved tending to her flowers, cooking delicious meals for those she loved, and spending peaceful afternoons working on Bible word puzzles.
She was preceded in death by her parents John and Erma Eaton; parents-in-law Otto (Martha) Pyatt; husband Kenneth Pyatt; daughter Karen Slade; sister Bertha Taber; brothers David (Angela) Eaton, Gerald Eaton, and Johnny (Shirley) Eaton; brothers-in-law Paul Myers, Troy Pyatt, Harold (Marie) Cooper, Claude Pyatt, Joe Stubblefield, and Ray (Erma) Anderson; sisters-in-law Imagine (Lester) McBenge and Geneva Pyatt; and grandson-in-law Phil Black.
Helen is survived by her son Ricky (wife, Rose) Pyatt of Beaufort, MO; son-in-law Jeff Slade of Hernando, MS; brother Lloyd (wife, Carol) Eaton of Cuba; sisters Mary Pyatt, Maxine Myers, Glenda Stubblefield all of Cuba, MO and Peggy (husband, Junior) Callahan of
Steelville, MO; sister-in law of Suzie Eaton of Cuba, MO; brothers-in-law Leo Pyatt of Sullivan, MO and Garland (wife, Linda) Pyatt of St. James, MO; 4 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation is from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM on Monday, July 13, 2026, at Hutson Funeral Home in Cuba, MO. Funeral Service is at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at Full Gospel Assembly of God in Sullivan, MO with Pastor Ryan Martin officiating. Burial will be at Bourbon Cemetery in Bourbon, MO.
