Ina A. (Pinnell) Bouse

Ina Adele Bouse nee Pinnell of Steelville, MO was born on Thursday, March 26, 1925 in Scotia, MO to James Lloyd Pinnell and Grace Clementine (Coleman) Pinnell. She passed away on Friday, July 3, 2020 at Steelville Senior Living at the age of 95 years, 3 months and 7 days.

Ina grew up on a farm with her father, brother and 3 sisters.  As the oldest girl, she had the part of taking care of her sisters after her mother passed away during childbirth when she was 15.  She was raised in a loving Christian home and accepted Christ as her Savior as a young adult.  After graduating from Steelville High School, Ina moved to St. Louis where she worked as a legal secretary.  She married Lindell Howard Bouse on June 18, 1950 in Piggott, AR and enjoyed 54 years of marriage.  After they moved back to Steelville, she worked at Hutson Department Store until she retired.

She was a member of Steelville Presbyterian Church and was a part of the Mariners group.  Ina was a matriarch of knowledge on the family.  She knew everyone’s birthday and made sure to send a card when she was able.  She kept records of everything she did and never wasted anything, she was very efficient and meticulous.  She enjoyed cleaning and was very thorough.  She loved needlework, cross-stitching and visiting with family and friends.  In recent years, she enjoyed playing BINGO and held the purse with winnings of her and her sisters.  Even though she never had children of her own, she loved her nephews and nieces as if they were hers.  Ina was an amazing baker and her family has several favorite dishes that make them think of her.  Ina’s wittiness, humor and daily phone calls will be especially missed by her family who loved her so much.

She was preceded in death by her parents James and Grace Pinnell; husband Lindell Bouse; step-mother Marie Pinnell; siblings James Haskell Pinnell, Dorothy (Rev. Delmar) Hutson and Rosie Atchision; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Eugene Schmidt, Jewel Bryan, Lois Gerling, Don (Mary) Low, Wendell (Betty) Bryan, Bud Sappington, Jim Bryan, Parker “Bud” Ray and Otis Allison; nieces Dana Schmidt and Fern Bryan; nephew John Hudson.

She is survived by her sister Elizabeth Schmidt of Steelville, MO; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Ray Atchison of Steelville, MO, Lorraine Pinnell and Larry Gerling both of Villa Ridge, MO, Velma Allison of Cuba, MO, Fairy Walker of Bourbon, MO, Shirlene Bryan of Ballwin, MO, Roy Bryan of O’Fallon, MO, Charles (Mary Ann) Bryan, Wanda Ray and Norma Sappington all of St. Charles, MO; nieces and nephews Linda Hudson, David (Colleen) Schmidt, Dale (Debbie) Schmidt, Spencer (Valerie) Hutson, Paul (Pam) Hutson, Jerry (Mary) Bryan, Terry (Barb) Bryan, Mike (Linda) Bryan, Doug (Tammy) Bryan, Nancy (Jody) Schatz, Kathy (Lee) Eikerman, Scott Bryan, Matthew Bryan, Becky (Jim) Budnick, Jeff (Sandy) Bryan, Skip Bryan, Bruce (Beverly) Gerling, Brian (Cindy) Gerling, Debbie (Tom) O’Conner, Kenyon (Sandi) Ray, James “Jimmy” (Barb) Ray, Lola Ray, Patty (Paul) Read, Kent (Amy) Sappington, Tracy Sappington, Mark (Robin) Gerling and Steven (Denise) Ray; great nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.

Visitation was from 11AM to 1PM on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville, MO.  Funeral immediately followed at 1PM with Rev. Wendy Downing officiated. Burial was at Liberty Cemetery, Steelville, MO.  Memorials were given to Liberty Cemetery.
