James Austin Ogle, “Boone”, of Steelville, MO was born on Friday, July 7, 1950 in Keysville, MO to Fredrick W. Ogle and Pearl (Jones) Ogle. He passed away at his home on Saturday, February 29, 2020 at the age of 69 years, 7 months and 22 days.
Boone was raised in Steelville where he lived most of his life. He graduated from Steelville High School with the Class of 1968 and then joined the United States Marine Corps where he served honorably. He married Deborah Lorraine Argent in Steelville, MO and to this union 2 sons were born. He later worked at US Steel for a number of years. Boone enjoyed the outdoors and being on the river, whether it was fishing, floating or just sitting watching the water go by. He loved motorcycles, cars and guns. He liked to watch westerns, listen to country music and loved his dogs. But most of all, Boone loved his family, kids and grandkids.
He was preceded in death by his parents Fredrick and Pearl Ogle; sisters Margaret (Dave) Boldt and Shirley (Noah) Livesay; brothers Bob (Ruth) Ogle, Richard Ogle and Fred Ogle.
He is survived by his sons Nicholas (fiancée Casey) Ogle of Cherryville, MO and James “Jimmy” Ogle of Granite City, IL; grandchildren Cierra Belle Barrios-Ogle of Granite City, IL, Cheyanne Sonnier, Duncan Cofer and Cody Ogle all of Cherryville, MO; brother Ray Ogle of Annapolis, MO; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
The family chose cremation as his final disposition. Visitation was from 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM on Friday, March 6, 2020 at Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville, MO. Memorial Service was at 6PM with Tommy Boldt officiating. Memorials were suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
