Jim was raised in Michigan and graduated from Redford High School located in Detroit, Michigan.  Upon graduation, Jim enlisted in the United States Navy and served on a ship during the Vietnam War.  After being honorably discharged in 1971, he married his high school sweetheart, Deborah Anne Dobbs on June 4, 1971 in Detroit, MI. Four children were born to this union.  They moved to O’Fallon, MO and he went to work for Chrysler in 1973.  In 1991 his job with Chrysler transferred him to Michigan where he lived and worked until 1994.  He was then transferred back to the Chrysler plant in Fenton, MO where he retired in 2003 after 30 years of service.  He and his family moved to Leasburg, MO and lived there until the present.

He was ordained as a minister in 1979 at First Southern Baptist Church in Leasburg, MO.  He then moved to Crossroads Baptist Church as the pastor from 1980 until 1991.  Upon returning to Leasburg in 1994, Jim became the pastor for Living Word Church until 2012 and had continued as Senior Pastor until his death.  He helped start the Ministerial Alliance in Leasburg (LAMB) and would help anyone in need.  Jim never met a stranger and was known for his servant’s heart. He could build or do just about anything.  He built his own shop where he enjoyed restoring cars and doing maintenance and repairs.  He loved spending time with his family.  He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.
