James "Jimmy" Chambers Obituary

James A. "Jimmy" Chambers, age 60, of Steelville, Missouri, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2024. Born on April 14, 1964, in Rolla, Missouri, Jimmy spent his early years in St. James, Missouri, before making Steelville his home for the rest of his life.

Jimmy had a deep love for the outdoors, and his passion for hunting, fishing, and camping was a big part of his life. He cherished the time spent in nature, whether he was out on the water, in the woods, or camping with friends. Many will remember him for his infectious laugh, his ability to make others feel at home, and his unwavering support for those he loved.

Known for his warm heart, his sense of humor, and his generous spirit, Jimmy was a pillar of his family and community. Whether it was helping others, sharing stories around the campfire, or simply spending time with those who mattered most, Jimmy's presence brought comfort, joy, and a sense of belonging to all who knew him. Jimmy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jim Chambers and second father Vic Ford; his beloved grandparents Jack and Majorie Steen and Walter and Pansy Chambers.

Jimmy is survived by his devoted wife, Corinne Chambers; two children, Kris Chambers (wife Nyssa) and Lela Chambers (fiancé Joe Mangrum); and three cherished grandchildren, Leighton Chambers, Kal Chambers, and Emery Chambers. He is also survived by his mother, Donna Harper and her husband, Charles Harper; his siblings, Margie Tessaro (husband Jeff), Mindy Bassett (husband Kent), and his second mother, Ellen Chambers. He will also be missed by his step-siblings, Jim, Steve, Mike, and Angie, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family, and close friends.

Visitation was from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM on Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at Hutson Funeral Home in Steelville, MO.  A Celebration of Jimmy’s Life immediately followed at 12:00 PM with Rev. Jerry Beers officiating.  Burial was at Macedonia Cemetery, Rolla, MO.

Jimmy will be deeply missed by his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of love, laughter, and adventure will continue to live on in the hearts of those he touched.
