James "Jimmy" Daniel DeClue, of Gerald, MO and formerly of Cuba, MO, was born on Friday, June 8, 1962 in Cuba, MO to Benjamin Irving DeClue and Bonnie Berneal Ransom DeClue. He passed away at his home in Gerald, MO on Thursday, September 23, 2021 at the age of 59 years, 3 months and 15 days.
Jimmy grew up in Steelville, MO where he also attended school. He joined the United States Army where he served his country honorably. He later worked as a cable technician for many years. Jimmy was an avid reader and enjoyed to hunt and fish. Most of all, he loved his family, especially his daughters.
He was preceded in death by his father, Benjamin DeClue; brother-in-law Eldon Schlegel; and special aunt Janet Chandler.
Jimmy is survived by his mother Bonnie (Sonny) Haffer of Steelville, MO; children Phylisha (Charles) Lewis of WA and Laura DeClue of Cuba, MO; siblings Diana "DD" Pletzer of Branson, MO, Joe (Raylene) DeClue of Sullivan, MO, David DeClue of Cuba, MO, Michelle "Shelly" (Nick) Bensing of Claremore, OK, Melissa "Missy" Copling of Cuba, MO and Daniel DeClue of Bourbon, MO; special uncle Cleo Chandler of Cuba, MO; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation was from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM on Friday, October 8, 2021 at Hutson Funeral Home in Steelville, MO. Memorial Service immediately followed with Rev. Alan Miles officiating and full military honors. The service was live-streamed on Hutson Funeral Home in Steelville, MO's Facebook Page. The family chose cremation as his final disposition. Memorials were suggested to the Wounded Warrior Project.
