Alice "Jane" Dillingham, nee Carr, of Steelville, MO, was born on Sunday, June 26, 1949, in Cook Station, MO, to Alvah "Homer" Carr and Millie Madeline Carr, nee Litty. She passed away on Sunday, June 7, 2026, at Missouri Baptist Hospital in Sullivan, MO at the age of 76 years, 11 months and 12 days.
Jane Dillingham was a woman who loved deeply, laughed often, and never met a stranger. She graduated from a Christian high school in St. Louis in 1967 and later earned her nursing degree from Washington Practical School of Nursing. As an LPN, she spent 25 years caring for others as a nurse at nursing homes and as a private in-home nurse, sharing her compassion and kindness with everyone she served.
On March 1, 1975, Jane married Gary Keith Dillingham in Cuba, Missouri. Together they shared 35 years of love, laughter, and treasured memories.
Jane loved the simple joys of life—playing Rook, working puzzles, quilting, embroidery, shopping, and hunting for treasures at yard sales. She enjoyed visiting with family and friends and always liked staying up to date on the latest news and stories. She was also a wonderful cook, and her family will always remember her french toast and famous chicken and dumplings.
Her faith in the Lord was an important part of her life, and she enjoyed worshiping at Steelville Assembly of God. Most importantly, Jane loved her family. They were her greatest joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Millie Carr; husband, Gary Dillingham; parents-in-law, Leslie L. and Annie L. Dillingham; siblings, Nadine (Harold) Hogue, Lois (Harry) Missey, Judy (Tom) Worley, Christine (Earl) Grubaugh and Thomas Carr; sisters-in-law, Jeannie Carr and Sharon Ann Henson.
Jane is survived by her loving children, Stefanie (Kyle) Kitcher of Union, MO, Scot “Denny” Sellers of Steelville, MO and Angie Dillingham of Sullivan, MO; honorary son, Mike (Shelley) Clark of Cuba, MO; siblings, William “Bill” Carr of Sullivan, MO and Sharon Carr of St. James, MO; brother-in-law, Ronnie Dillingham of St. Louis, MO; grandchildren, Danielle Seals, Joshua (AJ) Kitcher, Alex (Danielle) Kitcher, Ian (Celine) Kitcher, Mara Moore, Cierra Crowley, Brittany Crader, Tiffany Palmer, Beau (Kendra) Campbell, Austin Campbell and Coahoma Jarosek; many great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
