Janet Marie (Ransom) Eckert

Janet Marie Eckert nee Ransom of Steelville, MO was born on Saturday, April 7, 1956 in Steelville, MO to Dewey James Ransom and Vivian Elizabeth (Adams) Ransom. She passed away in Steelville, MO on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at the age of 65 years, 3 months, and 14 days.

Janet attended Steelville High School, Steelville, MO. She accepted the Lord early in life and later in life attended United Baptist Church in Steelville, MO. She married Bobby Quinton and to this union one son was born.  She later married Steven Macks J. "Hitler" Eckert on December 24, 1989 in Steelville, MO and together they raised four children. Janet enjoying fishing, flower gardening and crafts. She made key chains and necklaces and also painted rocks that she and her grandchildren enjoyed hiding. She was famous for her potato salad and has left her family guessing as to her signature recipe. She loved spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Dewey and Vivian Ransom; parents-in-law Joseph and Marie (Hildebrand) Eckert; son Travis Quinton; brothers James Ransom and Bill Ransom; sister Ava Viehman; brothers-in-law David Gene Eckerthart, and Thomas Joseph Eckert; sister-in-law Mary Eckerthart.

She is survived by her husband Steven Macks J. "Hitler" Eckert of Steelville, MO; sons Jimmy (Shawn) Quinton of Steelville, MO, Justin (Misty) Eckert of Leasburg, MO, and Michael Allen (Kayla) Eckert, Sr. of Cuba, MO; sisters Wanda (Bill) Bogue of Cuba, MO and Patricia (Allen) Brown of Steelville, MO; brothers Steve (Linda) Ransom of Steelville, MO, Larry Ransom of Waynesville, MO, Jeff (Sabrina) Ransom of Potosi, MO, and DeWayne "Murf" Ransom of Cook Station, MO; sisters-in-law Elaine Ransom and Marilyn Ransom both of Steelville, MO; brothers-in-law Bud Viehman of Steelville, MO, Eli (Marilyn) Eckherthart of Dakota, IL, Jerry Eckerthart of St. Louis, MO, and Joseph Lee Eckerthart of Freemont, IL; grandchildren Kodey Quinton (fiancé Lucas White), James Quinton, II, Isabella "Izzy" Quinton, and Cheyenne Harris all of Steelville, MO, Anastasia Quinton, Penelope Quinton, and Alexander Quinton all of Chico, CA, Tyler Eckert of Holland, MI, Brett Parkins and Dakota Parkins both of Leasburg, MO, Michael Allen Eckert, II and Miah Eckert both of Cuba, MO; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation was from 5:00PM - 6:00PM on Friday, July 23, 2021 at Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville, MO. Funeral Service immediately followed at 6:00PM with Rev. Alan Miles officiating. The family chose cremation as the final disposition. Memorials were suggested to the American Cancer Society or Riding for a Reason.
