We mournfully announce the sudden passing of Jeffrey Allen Bruning, 63, at his beloved home and farm in Leasburg, Missouri, on February 6, 2022.
Jeff was born to Lawrence and Marcie (nee Schaefer) Bruning on September 28, 1958 and after graduating from Bourbon High school, received his degree in mechanical engineering from University of Missouri-Rolla. Jeff was passionate about farming and ranching, establishing the successful Angus Royale Farms, a fifth-generation family-owned organic Angus beef operation on his farm in Leasburg, following in the footsteps of his grandfather, Albert “Buck” Bruning. Jeff was a pillar in the community, holding leadership roles on the Bourbon High School Board and The American Legion. His passions also included sailing, hunting and fishing.
He held an unwavering faith in God, which he shared with those surrounding him. Raised in the Lutheran faith, Jeff went on to graduate from Calvary Chapel School of Ministry and enjoyed doing missionary work, especially his mission trips to the Philippines, Haiti and Honduras.
Jeff married Jill (nee Pearson) in Albuquerque, NM and they would go on to raise five children: Derek (wife Carreen), Stacy (husband Craig), David (wife Lisa), Elly and Mandy. Jeff was a strong, kind, loving, and supportive father. His knowledge and guidance was the foundation of his family and he loved sharing his extensive research of their German family heritage and ancestry.
Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Marcie. He is survived by his wife, five children and seven grandchildren (Trinity, Reese, Blane, Samuel, Della, Oliver and London).
