Joan Marie (Krutsch) Kempf

Joan Marie Kempf nee Krutsch of Steelville, MO was born in St. Louis, MO on Wednesday, April 29, 1942 to William "Bill" Krutsch and Marie (Firneis) Krutsch. She passed away in Steelville, MO on Monday, August 10, 2020 at the age of 78 years, 3 months, and 12 days.

Joan married Eugene "Gene" Charles Kempf at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Fenton, MO on September 16, 1961. She and Gene moved to Steelville, MO around 1977. She accepted the Lord and was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Steelville, MO. She was a hard worker and helped out on the farm with raking, baling hay, and more. In her younger days, she enjoyed dancing, gardening, going to drag races, fishing at their pond, camping, and hunting. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, and especially her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Bill and Marie Krutsch; parents-in-law Louis and Hilda Kempf; brothers-in-law Don Knittig, Floyd (Nancy) Kempf, James Kempf, and Donald Schutz.

She was survived by her husband Gene Charles Kempf of Steelville, MO; daughter Linda (Steve) Ransom of Steelville, MO; son Michael (Crystal) Kempf of Steelville, MO; grandchildren Josh (Ashley) Counts, Brittany (Chris) Dement, Eli Ransom, Hallie Ransom, Charlie Mabe, and Michael Kempf all of Steelville, MO; great grandchildren Rylie Counts of Steelville, MO and Kimberly Counts of Bourbon, MO; sister Carole Knittig of Warrenton, MO; sister-in-law Laverne Schutz of Fenton, MO; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation was from 4:00PM - 8:00PM on Thursday, August 13, 2020 at Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville, MO, with a Rosary Service at 7:00PM.. Funeral Mass was at 11:00AM on Friday, August 14. 2020 at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Steelville, MO. Father James Finder officiated. Burial was at Kempf Family Cemetery, Steelville, MO. Memorials may be given to Holy Cross Catholic School, Cuba, MO.
