Joshua Morgan Obituary

Joshua Mark Morgan, of Steelville, MO, was born on Tuesday, January 6, 1987 in Moberly, MO to Mark Todd Morgan and Sheryl Elaine Morgan, nee Franklin.  He passed away as a result of a tragic motor vehicle accident in Steelville, MO on Friday, June 7, 2024 at the age of 37 years, 5 months and 1 day.

Joshua grew up in Moberly, MO and graduated from Moberly High School in the Class of 2006.  He had accepted the Lord as his personal Savior and was baptized when he was 10 years old.  He was working as a lifeguard at the YMCA when he met the love of his life, Leah Marie Farrar.  They were married on January 15, 2011 in Moberly, MO by Pastor Allen Todd and to this union a son, Jase, was born.  Josh and Leah returned to Leah’s hometown of Steelville, MO where Josh worked at the Crawford County Sheriff’s Department as a Detention and Transport Officer and attended Steelville First Assembly of God Church.  He had a love for guns, both working on them and shooting them, and worked for Dake Gunsmith in Cuba, MO.  Joshua also worked as a salesman for 2nd Amendment Wholesale and AmChar Wholesale.  He enjoyed going to demolition derbies with his brothers and Jase, hunting, fishing, BBQing and hanging at the river.  Joshua loved to kid around and was a friend to all that knew him.  Most of all, Joshua loved his family and spending time with them.  He was a loving and devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. 

He was preceded in death by his father Mark Morgan; grandparents Gilbert Franklin, BN and Lela Morgan.

Joshua is survived by his loving wife of 13 years, Leah Morgan of Steelville, MO; son Jase Morgan of Steelville, MO; mother Sheryl Morgan of Steelville, MO; grandmother Eleanore Franklin of Cairo, MO; brothers Andy (Amanda) Morgan of Centralia, MO and Ben (Beca) Morgan of Gainsville, TX; special sister Jenny Walters of Columbia, MO; parents-in-law Tim and Sandy Farrar of Steelville, MO; sister-in-law Lindsay Farrar of Steelville, MO; nephew and nieces Kaydon, Lillian, Tessa, Lila, Juniper and Allison; aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

Visitation was from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM on Saturday, June 29, 2024 at Hutson Funeral Home in Steelville, MO.  Celebration of Life will immediately followed at 1:00 PM with Rev. Jerry Beers officiating.  The Service was live-streamed on Hutson Funeral Home in Steelville, MO's Facebook Page. The family chose cremation as his final disposition.
