Judy K. (Carter) Chilton

Judy Kay Chilton, nee Carter, of Wesco, MO was born on Wednesday, August 20, 1952, in Waynesville, MO to Glen “Gene” Eugene Carter and Jeanette Sue Carter, nee McKinnon.  She passed at her home in Wesco, MO on Sunday, June 30, 2024, at the age of 71 years, 10 months and 10 days.

Judy attended and graduated from Waynesville High School in the Class of 1970.  She married the love of her life Marvin “Larry” Chilton on December 17, 1986, in St. James, MO and together had three children.  Judy enjoyed staying home taking care of her home and family.  Judy enjoyed reading, listening to music, singing in the choir at church, and hunting for mushrooms.  She also enjoyed cooking and watching tv (especially NCIS).  Most of all, Judy loved her family and spending time with her grandkids.  She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend.

She was preceded in death by her parents Gene and Jeanette Carter; parents-in-law Marvin and Mary “Lorraine” Chilton; brother Glen Eugene Carter, Jr.; sister-in-law Mary Etta (Bud) Blackburn; brothers-in-law Richard Douglas Chilton and Bob Watkins; daughter Tina Marie Chilton.

Judy is survived by her loving husband Larry Chilton, Sr. of Wesco, MO; children Stephanie Adkins of Wesco, MO and Larry “Peanut” (Tina) Chilton, Jr. of Steelville, MO; sisters Carolyn (Dennis) Schubert of Jefferson City, MO and Peggy (Ed) Fedeli of Sarasota, FL; sisters-in-law Carol Jean Watkins, and Bonita Chilton both of St. James, MO, Sharon Kay (Jerry) Tennyson of Rolla, MO, Donna Marie (Matt) Burns of Ozark, MO, and Debbie Lorraine (John) Scudder of Ft. Pierce, FL; brother-in-law Dale Lee (Laura) Chilton of St. James, MO; grandchildren Britteny Chilton (Justin Ogle) and Brandon (Hallie) Chilton both of Steelville, MO, Raven Adkins and Wraith Cass Adkins both of Wesco, MO; great grandchildren Aubree Rice, Rylee Rice, Gunner Rice, Brodie Chilton and Ozzy Chilton all of Steelville, MO; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation is from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM on Monday, July 8, 2024, at Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville, MO.  Funeral Service will immediately follow at 1:00 PM with Pastor John Scudder officiating and will be live-streamed on Hutson Funeral Home in Steelville, MO’s Facebook Page beginning at 12:55 PM.  Burial will be at Adams Cemetery, Rolla, MO.
