Julie M. (Gerhart) Ledbetter

Julie Mariea Ledbetter, nee Gerhart, of Bourbon, MO, was born on Thursday, October 12, 1961, in Kansas City, MO, to Leona Gerhart.  She passed away at Missouri Baptist Hospital in Sullivan, MO, on Monday, March 17, 2025, at the age of 63 years, 5 months and 5 days.

Julie married Dennis Ledbetter in St. Louis, MO and shared 23 years of marriage before his passing in 2010.  She then met her loving companion, Jamie Payne, in August of 2011, and shared many happy years together. Julie was a natural caregiver and worked in home healthcare.  She enjoyed watching old westerns and John Wayne movies.  She was a lover of all animals, especially her many dogs.  She liked going to flea markets, yard sales, being a vendor and offering different items at her booths.  She was a loving wife, companion and friend.

Julie was preceded in death by her mother Leona Gerhart; husband Dennis Ledbetter.

Julie is survived by her fiancé Jamie Payne of Bourbon, MO; special friends Belinda Choate of Farmington, MO, Sarah Robertson of Cuba, MO, Tonja (husband Andy) Beakley, Christy (husband Daniel) Young both of St. James, MO, Rhonda (husband Mark) Rowden of Leasburg, MO, Jeremy Payne of Licking, MO and Timmy (wife Tabatha) Payne of Selma, NC; other relatives and friends.

Visitation was from 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at Hutson Funeral Home in Cuba, MO.  Memorial Service immediately followed at 6:00 PM with Rev. Jerry Beers officiating.  Following Julie’s wishes, the family chose cremation as her final disposition.
