Kevin Michael Jones, of Edgar Springs, MO, was born on Tuesday, August 13, 1963, in Olathe, KS, to Gary Wayne Jones, Sr. and Judith Kathleen Jones, nee Crump. He passed away at his home in Edgar Springs, MO, on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at the age of 62 years, 2 months and 24 days.
Born to a proud military family, Kevin’s early years were filled with travel and adventure before his family settled in Missouri. He graduated from Ladue High School in 1981 and soon after followed his calling to serve others. At just 20 years old, Kevin graduated from the police academy and began what would become a distinguished 30-year career with the Olivette Police Department. His dedication, integrity, and compassion earned him the respect of both his colleagues and community. After retiring from Olivette, Kevin continued his commitment to law enforcement with the Phelps County Sheriff’s Department, where he served for 7½ years as a transport deputy and later retired as a corporal. Kevin was a man of faith and a member of the United Methodist Church in Licking, Missouri. He was baptized as a young boy at Chaffee Methodist Church, beginning a lifelong relationship with God that guided his actions and character. He married the love of his life, Charlene K. Weber, on February 17, 2017, in Licking, MO. Outside of his professional life, Kevin found joy in the simple, beautiful things. He loved the outdoors—especially deer and turkey hunting and fly fishing. He enjoyed camping trips, sitting around a campfire with family and friends, and could often be found sketching or drawing in quiet moments. Above all, Kevin cherished time with his loved ones and was known for his sense of humor and goofiness that brought smiles to everyone around him. Kevin’s legacy of service, laughter, and love will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gary Sr. and Judith Jones; mother-in-law, Maxine Barber; great niece Baylee Stringer.
Kevin is survived by his loving wife, Charlene Jones of Edgar Springs, MO; 2 children; step-sons Carl (wife Brandi) Weber and Cody Weber both of Rolla, MO; brothers, Gary Jr. (wife Jill) Jones of Maryland and Brian (wife Molly) Jones of St. Charles, MO; brothers-in-law, Lonnie (wife Kristina) Halbert and John (wife Janice) Halbert both of Steelville, MO; 7 grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
