Lana Kay (Lea) Ives

Lana Kay Ives, nee Lea, of Cuba, MO was born on Tuesday, January 1, 1952 in St. Louis, MO to William "Sam" Mayborn Lea and Nora Ellen Lea, nee Coleman.  She passed away at her home on Saturday, December 23, 2023.

Lana graduated from Steelville High School in the Class of 1970.  She married David Lynn Ives on June 6, 1970 in Steelville, MO and to this union three daughters were born.  She had worked at the Crawford County Prosecutor's Office for many years as a Child Enforcement Officer.  Lana loved flowers and gardening; she had a green thumb that could grow anything.  She loved her pets, especially her dogs.  Most of all, Lana loved her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband David Ives; parents Sam and Nora Lea; parents-in-law Lester Ives and Julia "Judy" Ives; brother-in-law Gene Ort.

Lana is survived by her companion David Schowengerdt of Cuba, MO; daughters Shannon Castellano and Erin Ives (wife Erin Daniels) both of St. Louis, MO and Amy (husband Brian) Oetjen of Fenton, MO; grandchildren Garrett Ives, Jacob Oetjen, William Oetjen, Wyatt Oetjen, Khai and Sky; siblings William "Billy" (Karen) Lea and Ella Ort-Vilmer (husband Mike) both of St. Louis, MO, Tim (Terri) Lea and Terry Lea (companion Angie) both of Steelville, MO; brother-in-law Lester "Sonny" (Patsy) Ives of Mountain Home, AR; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family chose cremation as her final disposition and will do a private inurnment at a later date.
