Lola "Geraldine" (Hutchings) King

Lola "Geraldine" King, nee Hutchings, of Steelville, MO was born on Friday, December 24, 1926, to Gentry Willard Hutchings and Trula Ester Hutchings, nee Fryman.  She passed away on Monday, May 13, 2024, at Steelville Senior Living at the age of 97 years, 4 months and 19 days.

Geraldine attended grade school at Times Beach in Eureka, MO.  She married the love of her life, Jerry Calvin King on October 5, 1948, at the Steelville Courthouse.  They celebrated 73 years of marriage before his death in 2021.  They did not have children of their own, however, they raised three boys and called them sons, Sonny Hutchings, Rick Hutchings, and Terry Tittsworth. Their home was always filled with children.  They moved to Iowa in 1955 and lived there for a few years before moving to Caledonia, MN where they lived for more than 30 years.  When Jerry retired, they moved back to Missouri and settled on a farm in Berryman, MO. Geraldine accepted the Lord as her personal Savior later in life and attended Courtois Baptist Church.  Geraldine enjoyed going to yard sales, auctions, gardening, canning and washing clothes.  Most of all, she loved taking care of her family and spending time with them.
 

She was preceded in death by her husband Jerry Calvin King; parents Gentry and Trula Hutchings; parents-in-law Ruben and Mabel King; brothers Rick Hutchings and Edward “June Bug” Robertson; sisters Sybil (husband James) Ogrzewalla, Charlene (husband Junior) Amberge, Wanda Hawkins, Patricia (husband Odell) Evans, Jestine (husband Darrell) Evans, Betty (husband Curt) Lefler; brothers-in-law infant Delmar King, Arthur (wife, Bernieth) King, Walter King, Lester Vance, and Robert Hutson; and sister-in-law Rachel (husband, Charles) Adams.

Geraldine is survived by her honorary sons Sonny (Mary) Hutchings and Terry (Tina) Tittsworth both of Steelville, MO; sister Donna Tittsworth of Steelville, MO; sisters-in-law Lottie Vance, Sandra Robertson, and Mary Hutson all of Steelville, MO, Margie King and Karen Hutchings both of Cuba, MO; many nieces, nephews, cousins, honorary grandchildren and friends.

Visitation was from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM on Monday, May 20, 2024, at Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville, MO.  Funeral Service immediately followed at 12:00 PM with Pastor Mike Mounce officiating.  Burial was at Berryman Cemetery, Berryman, MO.  Memorials were suggested to Berryman Cemetery, Berryman, MO.  (Mail to PO Box 987 Steelville, MO 65565).
