Margaret Corina (Hounsell) Proctor

Margaret Corina Proctor, nee Hounsell, of Steelville, Missouri was born on Friday, December 6, 1935 to James Percival Hounsell and Gwendoline Evelyn Iris Tottle Hounsell.  She passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at the age of 87 years, 3 months, and 1 day.

Margaret attended school in England and after finishing, she worked as a switchboard operator in both Cambridge and London.  She married Thomas Averill Proctor in England on November 15, 1958 and they were married for 64 years. Margaret was a great mother and enjoyed many hobbies.  She enjoyed doing leather crafting, knitting, thimble collecting, sea shell crafts, gardening, fishing and loving on her dog's "Mickey" and "Chi-chi".  Margaret also enjoyed RVing with Tom after they were retired.  They made many friends all over the country.

Margaret was preceded in death by her mother Gwendoline Evelyn Iris Tottle Hounsell and her father James Percival Hounsell.  She is survived by the husband Thomas Averill Proctor, her sons James Proctor and wife Nanette of Missouri, Glenn Proctor of Wyoming, and Darrell Proctor and wife Marie Jose of Spain.  She has ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren,  She is also survived by her brother Richard Hounsell and her sister Barbara Hounsell.

Visitation was on Saturday, March 11, 2023, from 3PM to 4PM at Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville, MO.  Memorial Service immediately followed at 4PM.  The family chose cremation as her final disposition and wlll be buried at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Waynesville, MO at a later time.
