Mary Brown Obituary

Mary Agnes Brown nee Mull of Cuba, MO was born on Tuesday, October 30, 1945, in Granite City, IL to Charles Thomas Mull and Helen Evelyn Smith Mull.  She passed away on Saturday, September 18, 2021, at Phelps Health in Rolla, MO at the age of 75 years, 10 months, and 19 days.

Mary accepted the Lord early in life. She graduated from high school in Des Moines, IA. She married the love of her life, Rodney Woodrow Brown, on August 26, 1964, in Lancaster, MO.  They lived in California for many years where she worked for Toys R US.  When Rodney retired from the navy, they moved from California to Cuba, MO in 1986 and lived on the family farm. She worked for Wal Mart for 20+ years and spent time in almost every department.

She was a former member of the Cuba VFW Local 7147 and she also volunteered at The Storehouse, a local Christian not-for-profit thrift shop. She loved to play bingo, go fishing, work around the house, and collected materials for making crafts.  She adored looking after her chickens and ducks and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a firm believer in taking care of family and friends no matter the time or cost. Those in the community have described her as a kind, hardworking, and loving woman who was a great role model for those around her. She will be greatly missed by her friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her husband Rodney Brown; parents Charles and Helen Mull; parents-in-law Ralph and Bessie Heaberlin Brown; brother Thomas Mull; brothers-in-law Barry Arnett and Roger (Patty) Brown; grandchildren Alyssa Brown and Jeffery D. Harris II.

She is survived by her children Richard (Patty) Brown, Jamie (Jackie) Brown all of Cuba, MO, Mike (Rhonda) Brown of Leasburg, MO, Robert Brown of Woodward, IA, Rodger (Jennifer McDonald) Brown of Leasburg, MO, Bonnie (Jeffery) Harris of Cuba, MO, Donald Brown, Liberty Brown, and Nevaeh Brown all of Leasburg, MO; sister Patty Brown of Cuba, MO; sisters-in-law Nina Kaye Arnett of Knoxville, IA and Judy Mull of Cuba, MO; 14 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
