Mary Catherine Lewis, nee Harmon, of Cuba, MO, was born on Thursday, January 7, 1954, in Rolla, MO, to Harry Harmon and Catherine Harmon, nee Blount. She passed away at her home in Cuba, MO, on Friday, November 28, 2025, at the age of 71 years, 10 months and 21 days.
A proud graduate of Cuba High School’s Class of 1972, she began building her life in the community she cherished. At just 14 years old, fate led her to the love of her life, Randall Steven Lewis, during a chance meeting at the Cuba Drug Store. Their young connection grew into a beautiful partnership—strengthened by roller skating dates at the Cuba Roller Rink and celebrated when they married on November 27,1986, at the Cuba Methodist Church. Their union was blessed with two daughters who became the center of Mary’s heart.
Mary’s work ethic and kindness touched many lives. She managed the Dairy Cream for Fritz and Jessie, later guiding the teams at Voss Truck Stop and Dottie’s in Cuba, MO. Friendship was something Mary nurtured deeply. She cherished time spent with those close to her and even founded the First Friday Ladies Lunch at Frisco’s—a testament to her ability to bring people together. She and Randall shared many travels, collecting memories until she was no longer able. Mary found joy in life’s simple pleasures: the beauty of flowers, the comfort of music, the escape of a good book, and the fun of playing cards. But above all, nothing meant more to her than her family. Her greatest happiness came from the moments, big and small, spent with those she loved.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Catherine Harmon; parents-in-law, Gene and Norma Lewis; brother, Larry Harmon; sister, Pat Weber; sisters-in-law, Sher Doud and Charla (Leroy) Ash.
Mary is survived by her husband, Randall Lewis of Cuba, MO; daughters, Jenni (husband, Michael) Cremer of Cuba, MO and Stephanie Lewis of St. James, MO; 6 grandchildren, Aurora, Vivien, Zane, Oliver, Aveline and Jude; brothers, Harry (wife, Judy) Harmon of Sedalia, MO and Dennis (wife, Sharon) Harmon of Ozark, MO; sisters-in-law, Carole Harmon of St. Louis, MO and Lana (husband, Joe) Marcotte of Fayetteville, AR; brothers-in-law, Larry Weber of Cuba, MO and Chuck Doud of SC; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Following Mary’s wishes, the family chose to donate her body in hopes to help others with brain tumors. A Celebration of Life Service will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 31, 2026 at Cuba United Methodist Church with Pastor Todd Holman officiating.
