Michael "Mike" Olms

Michael "Mike" Olms of Steelville, MO was born on Sunday, May 19, 1963 in Cuba, MO to Jack Olms and Venita Mae Olms (nee Marston).  He passed away at Evelyn House BJC Hospice in Creve Couer, MO on Sunday, March 20, 2022 at the age of 58 years, 10 months and 1 day.

Mike attended Steelville Schools.  He later joined the United States Army where he served our country honorably.  He married the love of his life, Shannon Marie Neth on July 11, 2007 in Steelville, MO.  Mike had worked for Jimmy Davis driving a dump truck, Sullivan Precision Metal and later for Atlas Moving Company.  He loved sports, especially NASCAR, St. Louis Cardinals baseball, St. Louis Blues hockey and college basketball.  He was an avid outdoorsman that enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, camping and floating.  Most of all, Mike loved spending time with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father Jack Olms; daughter Felicia Olms; two sisters, Janet Sue Olms and Pamela Land.

Mike is survived by his mother Venita Olms of Steelville, MO; wife Shannon Olms of Steelville, MO; parents-in-law Bernie and Dianne Neth of Warsaw, MO; children William Olms of Steelville, MO, Austin Neth of Walnut Ridge, AR and Jordan Sutherland of Jefferson City, MO; siblings Jack Olms of FL, Debbie (Joe) Gladden of VA, Donna (Warren) Combs of Bourbon, MO and Valley (Jim) Becker of Steelville, MO; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Ricky (Debbie) Land of Cherryville, MO, Tammy (Darren) Stratton, Stacy (Kevin) Mosier and Billy Resa all of Sedalia, MO, Bernie Neth of Kansas City, KS, Lisa Neth of Lee Summit, MO, Brooke Couture of Weatherford, TX and Jeannie (Anthony) White of Jefferson City, MO; 9 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Visitation was from 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville, MO.  Memorial Service with full military honors immediately followed at 6:00 PM with Rev. Alan Miles officiating. The service was live-streamed on Hutson Funeral Home in Steelville, MO’s Facebook Page.  The family chose cremation as his final disposition.
