Mitchell Jay Burke

Mitchell Jay Burke, of Kansas City, MO, was born on February 9, 1977, in Rolla, MO, to LaVerna Quinton, nee Burke.  He was found at his home in Kansas City on Monday, September 8, 2025, at the age of 48 years, 6 months and 30 days.

Mitchell was raised in Steelville, MO, graduated from Steelville High School in the Class of 1996 and worked with computers.  He will be missed by all that knew him.

He was preceded in death by his mother, LaVerna Quinton and brother, Michael (wife, Debbie) Burke.

Mitchell is survived by his sister, Michelle Hembree of Nashville, TN; nephew, Kegan (wife, Alanna Burke) of St. James, MO; great niece and nephew, Kynnadie Burke and Liam Burke; brother-in-law, Edmond Tapero of Nashville, TN; aunt, Lula Patterson of Steelville, MO; uncle, Jim Burke of St. James, MO; close special friend, Andy Kogan; his chosen family in Kansas City; cousins and many friends.

The family chose cremation as his final disposition.  The family will have an inurnment at Steelville Cemetery at a later date.
