Rebecca Susan Haferkamp, nee Cottingham, of Cuba, MO, was born on Thursday, April 22, 1943 in Knoxville, TN to Robert John Cottingham and Grace Evelyn Cottingham, nee Taylor. She passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at Cuba Manor at the age of 81 years and 2 months.
Rebecca grew up and attended school in St. Charles, MO. She married Glen Lester Haferkamp in St. Charles, MO. Rebecca worked as a Letter Carrier for the United States Postal Office for 29 years until her retirement. She was a member of the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed painting, traveling and going on vacations. She had 2 yorkies that she adored. Most of all, Rebecca loved her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Grace Cottingham; husband Glen Haferkamp; son Terry Allan Pettig; sister Roberta Grace Schultz and step-sister Betty Kay Kuentzler.
Rebecca is survived by her children James Pettig, Jr. of Cuba, MO, Katherine Tegeler of St. Charles, MO, Jeffrey Pettig of Steelville, MO and Kimberly (Jim) Wallace of Belle, MO; brother John "David" (Blanche) Cottingham of St. Charles, MO; step-sister Joanne Middlebusher; 8 grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family chose cremation as her final disposition and will later have an inurnment at St. Charles Memorial Gardens.
