Robert Joseph Mendoza, Sr.

Robert “Bob” Joseph Mendoza, Sr. of Cuba, MO was born on Sunday, July 24, 1932 to Leonardo Mendoza and Sarah Isanura Alonzo Mendoza in Duluth, MN. He passed away at St. Clare Medical Center, Fenton, MO on Monday, April 13, 2020 at the age of 87 years, 8 months and 20 days.

Bob served his country honorably in the United States Army as a MP. He married Alice Margaret Meade on July 30, 1955 in St. Louis, MO and to this union six children were born.  Bob worked as a retail clerk most of his adult life in the National Supermarkets of St. Louis, MO.  After moving to Cuba, Bob worked several years in the produce department at Mace Grocery store in Cuba.  He had recently attended Deer Creek Church, Cuba. He was always smiling and had many friends in the community. He enjoyed spending much of his free time with his grandchildren whom he loved dearly. He will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents; parents-in-law  Earl and Dollie Meade; brothers Tony Mendoza, Hank (Pat) Mendoza, Pete and Lou Mendoza;  brothers-in-law Willard (Dorothy) Meade, Walter Radford, and Ben Dickie; sisters-in-law Ethel (Willy) Belmar, Doris Meade, and Caren Meade.

He is survived by his wife Alice Margaret Mendoza of the home; children Robert Joseph Mendoza, Jr. of St. James, MO, James Mendoza of Cuba, MO, Carla Barton of Jefferson City, MO, David (Brenda) Mendoza of Cuba, MO, Paul (Debbie) Mendoza of St. Charles, MO and Elania (Jesus) Padilla of Cuba, MO; sisters Alice Radford of St. Louis, MO, Joann Dickie of TX and Nicka Ruff of St. Louis, MO; brother Donnie Mendoza of Duluth, MN; brothers-in-law Orvil (Fern) Meade and Frank (Beverly) Meade all of Cuba, MO; 13 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Arrangements under the care of Hutson Funeral Home, Cuba, MO.
