Robert "Bob" Eugene Chew Sr

Robert “Bob” Eugene Chew, Sr of Leasburg, Missouri was born on Saturday, August 6, 1938 in Sullivan, Missouri to Harry E. Chew and Helen Welfery Chew.  He passed away on Sunday, January 31, 2021, at his residence in Leasburg, Missouri at the age of 82 years, 5 months, and 25 days.

He married Marcella Buchanan on March 31, 1956 at First Baptist Church in Cuba, MO and to this union 4 children were born, Robert Jr, Darlene, Mike, and Donna.  He later married Dormalee Green and one son, Randy, was born.

Bob was a hard worker.  He worked for the Missouri State Highway Department for several years.  He worked on the side laying asphalt for Ernie Holland for many homes and businesses in this area. He retired from the City of St. James working multiple jobs.  He loved to fish and deer hunt.  He enjoyed going to listen to music around the area, with bluegrass being his favorite.  He loved family gatherings and especially hanging out with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Harry E. and Helen Chew; grandparents Harry (Lulu) Chew and Jimmy (Dorothy) Welfery; wife Dormalee Chew; son Robert Eugene Chew Jr; daughters, Donna (Tom) Williams and Jeannie Haney; brothers, Bunkie (Lorraine) Chew, Elmer (Lorraine) Chew, Harold "Pee Wee" (Maggie) Chew, and Leroy Chew; and sister, Peggy Badgeley.

He is survived by his companion Shirley Beal of Leasburg, MO; ex-wife Marcella SanSoucie of Blackwell, MO; children Darlene (fiancee Walter Beal) Chew of Leasburg, MO, Michael (Susan) Chew of Plato, MO and Randy (Shelley) Chew of Owensville, MO; daughter-in-law Theresa Chew of Springfield, MO; brother-in-law John Badgeley of Mt. Vernon, MO; sister-in-law Arbell Chew of Sullivan, MO; grandchildren Jamie (Jason) Norton, Christopher (Amber) Chew, and Cody (Cherokee) Chew all of Ozark, MO, Austin Chew and Robert Callahan of Cuba, MO, Deven (fiancée Michaela Huerner) Williams and Mackenzie Williams all of Owensville, MO, Robert Eugene Chew III and Rachel Chew both of Springfield, MO, Stevie Fugitt of Cuba, MO, Scott (Corrine) Fugitt of Republic, MO, April Fugitt of Branson, MO, Justin Fugitt of Des Moines, IA, Seriae (Daniel) Wilson of Leasburg, MO, Crystal (Richard) Loughridge of Sullivan, MO and Lisa (Kyle) Lambert of Plato, MO; a host of great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Wednesday, February 3, 2021, at Hutson Funeral Home, 407 S. Franklin, Cuba, Missouri. Funeral Service will immediately follow at 12:00 PM with Bro. Len Young officiating. Burial will be in Davisville Cemetery, Davisville, Missouri.
