Roger "Bubba" Wayne Barnett, of Cuba, MO and previously of Salem, MO, was born on Saturday, January 21, 1967 in St. Louis, MO to Dennis Wayne Barnett and Doris Cloe Barnett, nee Honeycutt. He passed away at his home on Thursday, September 7, 2023 at the age of 56 years, 7 months and 17 days.
Roger attended school in Thayer, MO. He worked as a truck driver and had owned his own company at one time, G & R Trucking. He married the love of his life, Ginger Lee Sapaugh on October 7, 2011 in Steelville, MO. Roger had accepted the Lord as his personal Savior. He enjoyed riding his Harley motorcycle, camping, hunting and being outdoors. He looked forward to deer camp each year where he spent that time with his life-long childhood friend who was more like a brother, Kenny Joy and Kenny's son, Travis. Kenny's wife was the person who gave Roger the nickname, "Bubba." Roger was an avid music lover; he loved to play his guitar and sing. He loved his female pug named, Sammy Girl. Most of all, he loved his family and spending time with them. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who thought the world of his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents Dennis and Doris Barnett; parents-in-law Jewell "JD" and Shirley Sapaugh; infant son Dennis "Little Denny" Barnett; infant brother Leonard Barnett; sister Debbie Barnett and brother-in-law Dale Sapaugh.
Roger is survived by his loving wife, Ginger Barnett of Cuba, MO; children Darrick (Ashlee) Chapman, Sarah Chapman and Shelby Chapman all of Salem, MO and Stephanie (Chris) Meredith of Lake Wappapello, MO; brother-in-law Darrell (Michelle) Sapaugh of Salem, MO; 13 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation was from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM on Sunday, September 10, 2023 at Hutson Funeral Home, Cuba, MO. Funeral was at 11:00 AM on Monday, September 11, 2023 at Hutson Funeral Home. Funeral Service was live-streamed on Hutson Funeral Home in Cuba, MO's Facebook page. Burial was at Red Rowden Cemetery in Meta, MO.
The family encourages family and friends to ride their bikes to the service, as he takes his final ride in a motorcycle hearse to the cemetery.
