Ronald Dickens Obituary

Ronald Dean Dickens of Cuba, Missouri was born on Monday, August 25, 1958, in Rolla, Missouri to Paul Dickens and Geraldine “Gerry” Barlet Dickens. He passed away on Sunday, June 12, 2022, in Cuba, MO at the age of 63 years, 9 months, and 18 days.

He was a lifelong resident of Crawford County and attended Cuba Schools.  As a youngster, Ron went to church with his parents and had accepted the Lord as his personal Savior. He worked with his dad at a young age and went to a trade school to become an electrician. He was employed by the City of Cuba for a while and then founded Dickens Electrical Company where he worked for many years. He married the love of his life, Cynthia “Cindy” McGauly at Free Will Baptist Church in Cuba, MO on June 24, 1978 and to this union two children were born.

Ron also raised cattle and cut hay on his farm.  His hobbies included fishing, taking short trips to town on his Harley motorcycle, and woodworking.  He made cedar furniture such as lamps, coat racks, tables, and rocking horses and he also made rings out of antlers.  Most of all he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife Cindy Dickens; his father-in-law Henry McGauly; and his brother-in-law Michael McGauly.

Ron is survived by his parents Paul and Gerry Dickens of Cuba, MO; his son Joshua (Ada) Dickens of Rogerville, MO and daughter Jamie (Chris) Berry of Cuba, MO; brother Roger (Frankie) Dickens and sister Julie (Tim) Hale both of Cuba, MO; mother-in-law Sandra McGauly Simpson; brother-in-law Hank (Cheryl) McGauly III of Imperial, MO; sisters-in-law Laura (Jeff) Murray of Cuba, MO and Tammy (Darren) Dake of Steelville, MO; grandchildren Hailey (fiancé Larry Rogers) Dickens, Alexus Reed, Brooklyn Dickens all of Richland, MO, Alden Hughes, Owen Hughes, Bella Hughes all of Rogerville, MO; Cameron Berry, Wyatt Berry, Abigail Berry, and John Swaller all of Cuba, MO; great grandchild Makenzlee Dickens of Richland, MO; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Visitation was from 6:00PM – 8:00PM on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at Hutson Funeral home, Cuba, MO.  Funeral service was at 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 16, 2022, at Hutson Funeral Home, Cuba, MO with Pastor Jim Moore officiating. Burial was in Dickens Hill Cemetery, Cuba, MO.

Memorials were suggested to the funeral home to help with final expenses.
