Ronald "Ron" Lee Obituary

Ronald “Ron” Dennis Lee of Cuba, MO, was born on Monday, September 19, 1960, in Montreal, Canada, to Robert “Bob” M. Lee and Rosaline A. Lee, nee Purk.  He passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at Phelps Health Hospital in Rolla, MO at the age of 65 years, 8 months, and 14 days.

Ron was raised in Riverview Gardens and graduated from Christian Brothers College High School. Following his graduation, he attended trade school to fulfill his passion for hands-on work, earning a certification in welding. As a hardworking individual, Ron utilized his skills across several companies, including Industrial Wire Products, General Motors, and Mace’s. He spent the largest portion of his career serving the Indian Hills community on the road crew, where he remained until his retirement.

The most beautiful chapter of his life began on March 8, 1986, when he married the love of his life, Sara Melinda Rich, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Cuba, Missouri.  Together, they shared a deep devotion to family, serving side by side as the primary caregivers for their parents.

Ron was a man of deep faith and fellowship. Ron accepted the Lord as his personal Savior at an early age and regularly attended Holy Cross Catholic Church in Cuba.  He was a proud and highly active member of the Knights of Columbus, where he achieved the honor of the Fourth Degree. His leadership and commitment to the organization were recognized by his peers, who elected him to serve as Grand Knight twice. Every Thursday night, Ron could be found at the Knights of Columbus Hall, happily working the weekly bingo games alongside his wife, Sara.

Outside of work and community service, Ron found great joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved nothing more than spending a sunny afternoon gardening and mowing the grass. He was also an avid sports enthusiast who spent his free time cheering on NASCAR drivers, the St. Louis Cardinals, hockey teams, and wrestling matches. Above all, Ron was a compassionate animal lover. His absolute pride and joy were his two cherished cats, Tigger and Pennie.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Rose Lee; parents-in-law Earl and Mary Rich; and brother-in-law Tom Polcyn.

Ron is survived by his wife of 40 years, Sara Lee of Cuba, MO; brother Robert “Bob” Lee (wife, Mary) of St. Louis, MO; sisters-in-law Jane (husband, Rick) Luttrell of Cuba, MO and Joanne (husband, Bo) Baltis of St. Louis, MO; special niece Angela Greer of Lenexa, KS; special great nephews Ethan Greer and Issac Greer both of Lenexa, KS; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation was from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 11, 2026 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Cuba, MO.  Mass immediately followed at 11:00 AM with Father Mark Smith officiating.   In lieu of flowers, memorials were suggested to the Cuba Animal Shelter.
