Roxie A. Smith, nee Dirksmeyer, of Steelville, MO and formerly of Jerseyville, IL, was born on Tuesday, June 5, 1945, in Jerseyville, IL to Eugene Dirksmeyer and Morelin Langley. She passed away on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at Life Care Center in Sullivan, MO, at the age of 80 years, 3 months and 27 days.
Roxie attended and graduated from Jerseyville High School in Jerseyville, IL. Roxie worked for McLean Glass Company for approximately 16 years. She married the love of her life, Richard Edwin Macha on June 9, 2001, at the Meramec Valley Campground in Cuba, MO. Roxie was creative and enjoyed doing crafts, needle work and leather work. Roxie loved wintering in Texas but most of all she loved being with her family.
Roxie was preceded in death by her mother Morelin Langley; brothers Eugene (Melinda) Dirksmeyer and Leslie (Donna) Dirksmeyer; sisters Hylia Dirksmeyer and Rosalie Quinn (David Young); sisters-in-law Mildred (Eugene) Kulhanek, Hazel Nordman, and Fern Hulter; and brothers-in-law Donald Macha and Kenny (Caroline) Macha.
Roxie is survived by her husband Richard Macha of Steelville, MO; brother Tom (Jana) Quinn of Winchester, IL; brother-in-law Harold Macha of LA; nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The family chose cremation as her final disposition. No services to be held.
