Ruby Elizabeth McFadden, nee Holcomb, of Cuba, MO, was born on Sunday, December 31, 1933, in Mississippi County, Arkansas to Oscar Franklin Leroy Holcomb and Carrie Jean Holcomb, nee Jefferson. She passed away at her home on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at the age of 90 years, 10 months and 2 days.
Ruby grew up in Arkansas. She later moved to Missouri, where she had also lived in Robertsville, Anthonies Mill and Cuba. She had worked in several nursing homes as a supervisor in maintenance and lastly as a factory worker in High Ridge, MO. She married the love of her life, Kenneth Leroy McFadden on October 4, 1986 in Robertsville, MO. Ruby had accepted the Lord and attended Cuba Christian Church. She enjoyed painting statues, camping, fishing and working in her yard. She loved cooking, baking, gardening and canning. Most of all, Ruby loved her family and spending time with them, especially her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Oscar and Carrie Jean Holcomb; parents-in-law Ottis and Alice McFadden; kid brother Otto Holcomb; brother-in-law Charles McFadden and son James Littleton.
Ruby is survived by husband of 38 years, Kenneth McFadden, Sr. of Cuba, MO; daughter Elizabeth (Stephen "Doug") Doty of Middle Brook, MO; step-son Kenneth Jr. (Trish) McFadden of Bonne Terre, MO; siblings Donnie (Francis) Holcomb of Paragould, AR, Mackie (Lisa) Holcomb of MO, Jimmy (Arlene) Holcomb of Zenith, MO, Willie Holcomb of Monett, AR and Mae (Oscar "Dale") Skaggs of Dittmer, MO; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Paula Collins of Kansas City, MO, Norman McFadden of Troy, MO, Kathy (Gary) Miriani of Piedmont, MO and David (Janice) McFadden of Hillsboro, MO; 3 grandchildren, Joseph Doty and Joshua Doty, both of St. Louis, MO and Angela (Sonny) Thomas of Farmington, MO; great grandson Oliver "Ollie" Doty; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation was from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM on Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at Hutson Funeral Home in Cuba, MO. Funeral Service was at 1:00 PM on Thursday, November 7, 2024 at Hutson Funeral Home in Cuba, MO with Pastor Josh Sanders officiating. Burial was at Kinder Cemetery, Cuba, MO.
