Ruth Jean Adams

Ruth Jean Adams, of Cuba, MO and formerly of Steelville, MO, was born on Sunday, March 31, 1968, in Sullivan, MO, to James Junior Adams and Gerelean Smith, nee King.  She passed away at Cuba Manor on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at Cuba Manor, at the age of 57 years, 7 months and 26 days.

Ruth was raised in Steelville, MO and graduated from Steelville High School in the Class of 1986.  She excelled in math and went on to Tulsa University where she acquired the skills to run her own accounting business, Ruth’s Rapid Accounting. She had accepted the Lord as her personal Savior, loved sunflowers, lilies and the color red.

She was preceded in death by her father, James Adams; siblings, Jimmy Adams, Jane Adams, Patricia Adams and Linda Luther.

Ruth is survived by her mother, Gerelean Smith of Steelville, MO; sons, Steven Brumley of Bartlesville, OK and Kaden Bayless of Sullivan, MO; 2 grandchildren, Matilda Brumley and Malachi Brumley; siblings, Gary Adams of New Mexico, Lorretta Alberts and Pamala Kasten both of Joliet, IL, Lois Olliges of  Granite City, IL, Wilford Whobrey  and  Norma Whobrey both of  St. Louis, MO, Patrick Adams, Jeff Adams and Kenneth Adams all of Steelville, MO and Geraldine Mendoza of Thayer, MO; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation was from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM on Friday, December 5, 2025, at Hutson Funeral Home in Steelville, MO.  Funeral Service immediately followed at 1:00 PM with Rev. Jerry Beers officiating.  Burial was at Steelville Cemetery.
