Sheryl Lynn Ralph, of Steelville, MO and formerly of Kenosha, WI, was born on Friday, October 16, 1953, in Kenosha, WI to Robert Ralph and Dorothy Ralph, nee Tianen. She passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at her home in Steelville, MO, at the age of 72 years, 6 months and 23 days.
Sheryl graduated from Mary D. Bradford High School in Kenosha, WI, in the Class of 1972, and went on to build a long and dedicated career as a bookkeeper for large auto dealerships throughout Illinois. She was known for her strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the quiet reliability that so many came to depend upon.
For more than 60 years, Sheryl found joy and creativity in cross stitching, a passion that reflected her patience, talent, and loving spirit. She was also an avid fan of blues music, always appreciating the soul and storytelling found within the music she loved. In her quieter moments, she enjoyed watching Days of Our Lives and Law & Order, programs that became familiar comforts over the years.
Above all else, Sheryl’s greatest joy in life was her family. She treasured every moment spent with them, and nothing mattered more to her than the people she loved. Her family was truly her world, and they will forever carry with them the warmth, devotion, and love she gave so freely. Sheryl will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Ralph; mother, Dorothy Tianen; daughter, Kristen Johnston and brother, Tim (wife, Pat) Ralph.
Sheryl is survived by her loving sons, Matthew Johnston (wife, Jennifer) of Steelville, MO and Paul Johnston (wife, Shauna) of Raymore, MO; brother, Kevin Ralph (wife, Brenda) of Guy, TN; 8 grandchildren: Gabrielle Johnston, Savannah Johnston, Gracie Johnston, Paulie Johnston, III., Noah Johnston, Giovanni Johnston, Jessicca Shoemake and Bobby Shoemake; 2 great grandchildren, Evelyn and Harrison; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Following Sheryl’s wishes, the family chose cremation as her final disposition. No services to be held.
