Stephen G. Barton

Stephen G. Barton, of Cuba, MO, was born on Tuesday, August 14, 1962, in St. Louis, MO to Paul Miller Barton and Rosemary Jean Barton, nee Weiter.  He passed away on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at Phelps Health Hospital in Rolla, MO at the age of 62 years, 1 month, and 24 days.

Stephen attended and graduated high school in St. Louis, MO.  He loved fixing cars and worked as an auto mechanic for many years.  Stephen married Thresa Marie Reiner on August 8, 1999, in Cuba, MO and two children were born to this union, Rachel and Christopher.  He enjoyed singing karaoke, car shows, auctions, and taking care of his cats.  He was a collector of everything including movies, tools, and knick knacks.  Stephen never met a stranger and loved talking with people.  Most of all Stephen loved his kids, grandkids, and family.

He was preceded in death by his parents Paul and Rosemary Barton; and stepdaughters Alicia Williams and Valerie Hinson.

Stephen is survived by his children Rachel Barton (Austin Hickerson) and Christopher Barton both of Rolla, MO; sisters Kim M. Heise of VanBuren, MO, Jeannine M. (Larry) Shikles of Ballwin, MO, Danielle M. Taylor of St. Louis, MO, Jennifer L. Kusmec of Harrisonville, MO, and Laura M. Morlan of Kansas City, MO; brothers Christopher P. Barton, Paul M. (Alise) Barton, and Kevin R. Barton of all St. Louis, MO; 11 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild;  nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation was from 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at Hutson Funeral Home in Cuba, MO.  Memorial Service immediately followed at 5:00 PM.  The family chose cremation as his final disposition.
