Susan Lee Eaton, nee Johnson, of Cherryville, MO was born on Monday, January 11, 1960 in San Diego, CA to Thomas Ewing Johnson, Sr. and Mertiss Idell Johnson (nee Thomas). She passed away on Friday, April 1, 2022 in Cherryville, MO at the age of 62 years, 2 months and 21 days.
Susan grew up around Cuba, MO until her family moved to Texas; she then graduated from high school in Galveston, TX. She married Garland Edward Eaton, Jr. "Sonny" on December 24, 1999 in Cuba, MO and together had seven children. She had been a waitress at Don's Diner and River Mist Restaurants in Steelville, MO and Stephen's Steakhouse in Salem, MO. She had worked for the US Postal Service and recently had worked for DCAI doing home healthcare. Her favorite job was staying home and raising her children. Susan was a natural caregiver and had a heart for helping people. She liked canning and gardening. She enjoyed reading, watching movies and talking on the phone. Most of all, Susan loved her family and playing with her dog Gucci.
She was preceded in death by her parents Thomas Sr. and Mertiss Johnson; parents-in-law Garland Sr. and Rayella Eaton; husband Garland Jr. "Sonny" Eaton and sister Vickie Dale Goddard.
Susan is survived by her children Megan (Clint) Reardon of Palestine, TX, Mallary Goodwin (Steve Schmuke) of Pacific, MO and Mason Goodwin (Ashleigh Thurston) of Cherryville, MO; step-children Jason Eaton and Thomas Eaton both of St. Louis, MO, Miranda (Adam) Falloon of Bourbon, MO and Jenna Eaton of Bunker Hill, IL; sister Diane Wilson of Steelville, MO; brothers James (Joann) Huff of Cleveland, TX, Tom Johnson and Jerry Johnson both of St. Louis, MO; brothers-in-law Butch Goddard of Rye, TX, Kim (Becky) Eaton and Larry (Cathy) Eaton both of Cherryville, MO; special friends Steve England of Cherryville, MO and Cathy Ross of TX; seven grandchildren Dylan, Hailey, Adelynn, Caitlin, Chase, Jaylee and Jasper; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Visitation was from 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM on Monday, April 4, 2022 at Hutson Funeral Home in Steelville, MO. Memorial Service immediately followed at 6:00 PM with Rev. Alan Miles officiating. The family chose cremation as her final disposition.
