Tammy Callahan Obituary

Tammy K. Callahan, nee Dobkins, of Cuba, MO was born on Tuesday, June 25, 1974, in Laramie, Wyoming to L.T. "Skip" Dobkins and Rita Kay Vieyra Dobkins. She passed away on Saturday, December 25, 2021, at Missouri Baptist Medical Center in St. Louis, MO at the age of 47 years and 6 months.

Tammy attended school in both Encampment, WY and Rolla, MO.  She married the love of her life, Michael Callahan on Saturday, January 14, 1989, at the American Legion Hall in Cuba, MO and to this union 5 children were born.

She was a homemaker and loved taking care of her family.  Tammy enjoyed riding horses, shooting pool, fishing, motorcycle riding, diamond painting, going to yard sales, and tending to her vegetable garden.  She loved to can her homegrown vegetables and deer meat.  In the early years, she was fond of squirrel hunting.  She crocheted blankets, potholders, hats, and dish scrubbers.  She loved making jewelry, especially bracelets, earrings, and rings as well as attending gem shows and exploring exhibits. Most of all, Tammy loved spending time with her family, especially her grandbabies. 

She was preceded in death by her grandparents; sister-in-law Joy Schneider; and 2 sons Paden Callahan and Dustin "Dusty" Callahan.

Tammy is survived by her husband, Michael Callahan of Cuba, MO; parents L.T. "Skip" and Rita Kay Dobkins of Steelville, MO; parents-in-law Dave and Leona "Bonnie" Callahan of Cuba, MO; children Cody (Brandi) Callahan of Cuba, MO,  Dakota Callahan (significant other Aaron Downing) of Liberty, MO and Dalton Callahan of Cuba, MO; grandchildren Oakleigh Callahan and Magnolia Callahan both of Cuba, MO; brothers Rocky (Jennifer) Dobkins and Stoney (Lisa) Dobkins all of Steelville, MO; brothers-in-law  Stan Prince of Sullivan, MO and Jerry Schneider of Cuba, MO; sisters-in-law Tina Dickens of Salem, MO, Stacie Chandler and Donna Davenport both of Cuba, MO; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Thursday, December 30, 2021, at Hutson Funeral Home, Cuba, MO.  Funeral Service will immediately follow at 6:00 PM on Thursday, December 30, 2021, at Hutson Funeral Home, Cuba, MO with Brother Shane Ryerson officiating.  The service will be live-streamed on Hutson Funeral Home in Cuba, MO’s Facebook page beginning at approximately 5:55 p.m. The family chose cremation as her final disposition.
