Terry E. Counts

Terry E. Counts of Steelville, MO was born on Thursday, December 14, 1961 in Franklin County, MO to Arthur “Lee” Counts, Jr. and Mary Ann (Wyatt) Counts.  He passed away at his home on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at the age of 57 years, 11 months and 2 days.

Terry was a lifelong resident of Steelville and attended Steelville High School.  He accepted the Lord early in life and attended the Assembly of God in Steelville, MO as a child.  He married Betty Lou Barnicle on Saturday, May 29, 2004 at the Slovensky School House in Steelville, MO and to this union 2 children were born.  Terry worked at Arneson Timber Company in Steelville for a number of years.  He was a former member of the Crawford Co. Fox Hunters Association.  He loved to drink coffee.  He enjoyed the outdoors, especially to hunt and fish.  His kids were his world and he loved to be around his family.

 He was preceded in death by his parents Arthur Lee Counts, Jr. and Mary Ann Counts and brother Jerry Counts.

Terry is survived by his loving wife Betty Counts of Steelville, MO; children Josh (Ashley) Counts, Corey Counts, Carly Counts all of Steelville, MO; brothers Rick (Angie) Counts and Ray (Mary) Counts both of Steelville, MO; sisters Kay (Rick) Wheeler of Yankton, SD and Jennifer (friend Kim Myers) Matchell of Cuba, MO;  sister-in-law Bobby (Zack) Knox of Liberal, MO;  mother-in-law Tammy (Emery) Harmon of Steelville, MO; 2 granddaughters; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation was from 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville, MO. Celebration of Life immediately followed at 6:00 PM with Rev. Jerry Beers officiating.  The family chose cremation as his final disposition.  Memorials were suggested to the family for funeral expenses.
