Terry Wayne Gillam

Terry Wayne Gillam of Davisville, MO, formerly of Cuba, MO, was born on Tuesday, November 13, 1962, in St. Louis, MO to Lena Gillam Lisitano, and Jerry Cottrell. He died on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at his residence in Davisville, MO.

He was adopted by Chester and Beaulah Gillam, raised in the St. Louis area and attended Pattonville High School. After graduation, Terry was a bus driver for a few years at Fort Zumwalt School District and then went through professional truck driver training. He became an over-the-road truck driver for many years. He owned and operated his own rig and traveled throughout the United States and Canada.

When home, Terry spent his time working on older cars, especially Camaros and Firebirds. He enjoyed attending wrestling events (WWE) at the Chase Hotel, working with computers and other electronics, and listening to classic rock music.  He was an intellectual man and could talk on most any subject, including politics. He was a family man and loved all animals.  His loyal companion was a large German Shepherd dog named Roscoe. He will be missed by his friends and family members.

He was preceded in death by his biological mother Lena Lisitano; adoptive parents Chester and Beaulah Gillam; brothers Rodney Gillam and Edward Cottrell; and brother-in-law Timothy Courson.

Terry is survived by his siblings Teresa Gillam Courson of Sebring, FL, Kevin Howell of Overland, MO, Jeffrey Cottrell, Carla Callahan, and Christina Webb all of Viburnum, MO; father Jerry Cottrell of Davisville, MO; aunts Norma (Richard) Wall of Fenton, MO, Barbara (Terrence) McDonald of Wildwood, MO, Freda Treadway of Union, MO, and Georgia Gentry of Catawissa, MO; nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation was from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at Hutson Funeral Home, Cuba, MO.  Funeral Service immediately followed at 1:00 PM with Rev. Jerry Beers officiating.  Burial was at Czar Cemetery, Viburnum, MO.

In lieu of flowers, memorials were suggested to the funeral home to help with final expenses.

All arrangements are under the care of Hutson Funeral Home, Cuba, MO.
