Troy Lee Wilson

Troy Lee Wilson of Steelville, MO, previously of Versailles, MO, was born on Wednesday, July 28, 1971 in Columbia, MO to Herman William Wilson and Judy Ilene Albin Wilson.  He passed away on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at Missouri Baptist Hospital in Sullivan, MO after being involved in a motor vehicle accident at the age of 49 years, 9 months and 17 days.

Troy graduated from Morgan County R-II High School in Versailles, MO.  During high school he was on the football and wrestling teams, and also participated in the Special Olympics.  He attended a trade school in Eldon, MO for building trucks and to be an auto mechanic. Troy had accepted the Lord as his personal Savior at an early age and had attended the Berryman Assembly of God.  He had worked as a turkey farmer and at Tyson's, but recently had been working for McGinnis Wood Products in Cuba, MO.  Troy loved football and was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan.  He enjoyed bowling and played on a league growing up.  He loved to go fishing, especially with his mom who was his fishing buddy.  Troy was a great storyteller and loved to talk.  He liked to garden.  Most of all, Troy loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his little buddy Lenny. 

He was preceded in death by his mother Judy Wilson and grandparents George and Alma Albin.

Troy is survived by his father Herman Wilson of Sedalia, MO; siblings Curtis Wilson (companion Melanie Coleman), Tonya (Larry) Christian, Crystal Wilson and Amanda Potter all of Versailles, MO; step-brother Michael Wilson of Boonville, MO; special friends Charlie Smith, Billy and Cheryl Robinson and Lenny Boyles all of Steelville, MO; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family chose cremation as his final disposition.  The family had a Graveside Service at 3:00 PM on Friday, May 28, 2021 at Versailles City Cemetery in Versailles, MO.  Memorials were suggested to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
