Venita Mae Olms

Venita Mae Olms, nee Marston, of Steelville, MO was born on Monday, May 18, 1936 in St. Louis, MO to Thomas William Marston and Vallie Venita Marston. She passed away at Steelville Senior Living on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at the age of 87 years and 6 days.

Venita attended school in St. Louis, MO.  She married the love of her life, Jack Olms, on February 18, 1954 in St. Louis, MO and to this union 7 children were born.  Venita attended St. Michael's Catholic Church in Steelville, MO and was a homemaker.  She enjoyed bowling with her husband Jack and playing BINGO. Most of all, her family was her life.  She enjoyed raising her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and spending time with them.

She was preceded in death by  her husband Jack Olms; parents Thomas and Vallie Marston; parents-in-law Walter & Mary Olms; children Pamela Land, Janet Sue Olms and Michael Olms; granddaughter Felicia Olms; siblings Charles (Bessie Lee) Tucker, Thomas (Monifaye) Marston, Jr., Albert Marston, Gracie Marston, Mary (Frank) Kun, Betty "Toots" (Bernard) Leone, Gertrude Marston, Patricia "Pat" (David) Lashley, Donald Marston, and Millie (Lindell) Williams; sisters-in-law Betty (Stanley) Zygmund, Margaret (Julio) Wong, Barbara Olms and Pat (Paul) Conway; brothers-in-law - Walter (Kathy "Sissy") Olms and Jerald "Jerry" Roland, Sr.; nephew Jerald "Jerry" Roland, Jr.

Venita is survived by her children Debbie (Joe) Gladden of Spotsylvania, VA, Jack Henry Olms of FL, Donna (Warren) Combs of Bourbon, MO and Valley (Jim) Becker of Steelville, MO; daughter-in-law Shannon Olms of Branson, MO; siblings Dorothy Roland (Roger Barr) of Steelville, MO and John Marston of MD; grandchildren Jim Gladden, Melanie Gladden, Jackie Lutz, Bradley Davis, Matthew Olms, Jana Olms, Mae Sol Delgado, Ricky Land, John Price, William Olms, Dylan Becker and Garrett Becker; great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation is from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville, MO.  Funeral Service will immediately follow at 1:00 PM with Rev. Rick Haggett officiating.  Burial is at Steelville Cemetery.
