Walter "Mack" Snelson, of Steelville, MO, was born on Tuesday, June 1, 1954 in Salem, MO to Morris "Hank" Lee Snelson and Blanche A. Snelson. He passed away on Friday, April 21, 2023 at Missouri Baptist Hospital in Sullivan, MO at the age of 68 years, 10 months and 20 days.
Mack grew up in the Salem and Steelville areas then graduated from Steelville High School in 1972. He later received his certificate for heating and cooling and also for small engine repair. He worked as a truck driver for Bryant Express out of St. Louis, MO. Mack married Debra Diane Hutson on January 16, 1998 in Sligo, MO at a methodist church. He had accepted the Lord as his personal Savior, had rededicated his life and was a member of New Harmony Church in Salem, MO. Mack was a previous member of the Steelville Country Club. He enjoyed canoeing, spending time on the river and socializing with friends. Most of all, Mack loved his family and his dog.
He was preceded in death by his father Morris "Hank" (Pearl) Snelson; mother Blanche Wofford; brother Bob Snelson; special cousin Bill Snelson and special friend Fred Barr.
He is survived by his wife Debbie Snelson of Steelville, MO; stepchildren Rachel Hutson of Sullivan, MO and Ryan (Destiny) Hutson of Simpsonville, SC; parents-in-law Sidney and Carol Hutson of Cuba, MO; brother-in-law Faron Hutson of Cuba, MO; sister-in-law Sue (Joe) Copeland of Gerald, MO; niece Lisa Nothuas of Rolla, MO; special cousins Nancy Stickle of St. Louis, MO and Keith Snelson of Bowling Green, KY; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family chose cremation as his final disposition. There will not be any services at this time.
