Mary Asbury-Hill Obituary

Mary Ann Asbury-Hill nee Hale of Steelville, MO was born on Monday, December 2, 1957 in West Plains, MO to Alvin Norman William Hale and Carrie Effie Roberson Hale. She passed away at her home on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at the age of 61 years, 4 months and 29 days.

Mary Ann attended Gratiot Schools in St. Louis, MO and was a baton twirler. She married the love of her life, Mark Anthony Hill, on March 17, 1993, Fenton, MO. Mary Ann worked for many years as a factory worker at R&F Spaghetti and then Bordens. She enjoyed playing Play Station, especially Haunted Mansion, and baking with her grandkids; she would make them a cake for each of their birthdays. She used to love to fish with her husband, lately enjoyed watching tv and spending time with her dog, Taz. Most of all, Mary Ann loved her family. She was not only an amazing woman, but also amazing mother, grandmother and sister.

She was preceded in death by her parents Alvin Sr and Carrie Hale; husband Mark Hill; mother-in-law Betty Berra; sister-in-law Collette Hale; great grandson Chandler Werley and nephew Alvin Gene Hale.

She is survived by her two children Carrie DeBella of Steelville, MO and Lou (Bernadette) Copiano of St. Louis, MO; 13 grandchildren Jasmine (Caige) Werley of Sullivan, MO, Josh Palecki of Bourbon, MO, Justin Palecki of Cuba, MO, Emily Pitman of St. Charles, MO, Ciara Valentine of Arnold, MO, Tyler Copiano, Kenny Copiano, Jake Davis, Cooper Copiano, Leo Copiano, Maggie Copiano, Maura Copiano and Elizabeth Copiano all of St. Louis, MO; 6 great grandchildren Camdyn Werley, Zadyn and Taya Lang, Travis Valentine, Norah and Jayce Davis; sister Sue (Charles “Bud”) Hurst of St. Louis, MO; brother Alvin “Junior” Hale of Hartford, IL; special uncle Gerald Koelling of MS; niece Jennifer Hurst-Caskanett of Fenton, MO; nephews David Hurst of St. Louis, MO, Thomas Hale and Allen Hale both of IL; great nephew Jacob Caskanett of Fenton, MO; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Visitation was from 5PM— 7PM on Sunday, May 5, 2019 at Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville, MO. Funeral Service was at 11AM on Monday, May 6, 2019 at Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville, MO with Bro. Len Young officiating. Burial took place at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Steelville, MO. Memorials were suggested to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. (12555 Manchester Rd, St. Louis, MO 63131).
